I thought I'd quickly share a couple of books I've borrowed form the library recently. The new library has opened after being housed in a portakabin for about 18 months which is great and means I'm like i kid in a sweet shop with so many new books to choose from. The money saving handbook, is full of lots of advice on how to save money in different aspects of your life eg insurance, utilities, shopping , tax etc. It's written in a straightforward easy to understand way, and although quite a lot of the advice i was familiar with mainly due to being such a fan of the money saving expert website- there were still new things to learn, and I picked up a few things that are relevant to our business which I didn't know so it was worth getting just for that.
The imperfectly natural home , I liked this book because of the way it is written. Rather than preaching that we should all be living a 100% eco friendly sustainable lifestyle, it suggests ways you can make steps towards a greener life, whilst recognising that not all changes are suitable for everyone. There are suggestions for example of "green " cleaning products that you can buy, as well as for people who want to take it further advice about using good old vinegar and bicarb. I think it's a very realisitic book and it just seems to fits with my way of thinking about the way we are trying to live.
