The art of stone balancing

On Sunday we went to Beesands, where we had a fantastic, relaxed afternoon. After picnicking in the car we spent ages playing together on the beach, balancing pebbles on top of one another to make stone towers.

This required lots of concentration...and patience!Maisie demonstrated super human strength lifting and carrying huge rocks across the beach, and Joe was determined and patient whilst constructing his towers.
They also had great fun rolling down the beach...and chasing each other around.Joe went " all caveman" on us and made a spear from driftwood and a piece of slate he shaped himself.Neither of them wanted to leave, but we've promised we'll go again soon.
Oh, and here are some of our works of art- Andy Goldsworthy would be proud!
